What is the admin code of the TSE in the delivery state?
The factory default setting is 123456. If the admin code is not available anymore, there is no more possibility to carry out admin functions.
Why does the door not open automatically?
After entering the right code or activating the E-Key, a noise announces that the lock has been unlocked (exactly like a car). The lock can be then manually opened or closed within a few seconds. After that, the lock closes again. In this way, an ideal operational safety and a very low battery consumption are guaranteed.
Where has the admin code been saved?
The admin code as well as the record have been saved in the cylinder.
Does the admin code have to be changed?
The admin code should be changed in any case, in order to prevent an unauthorized person from opening the door with the default code 123456.
In which areas can the TSE be installed?
The TSE 4001 should be installed in weather-protected areas, because rain can penetrate into the electronic system.

What should I do if my keypad has to be fixed with the adhesive pads in winter despite minus degrees?
Adhesive pads reach their final adhesive strength by 20°C after 72 hours, whereby heat accelerates the process. The included adhesive pads are made up of a high performance glue, that can be used also with an object and environment temperature of 0°C. Should the pads be strongly deviating, the appropriate actions have to be carried out (e.g. fan heater or hairdryer). After carrying out these actions, please check the glue function by slightly and carefully pulling the keypad. If the glue has reached its final adhesive strength, it can be used in accordance with the environmental conditions.
What should I do, if the keypad has to be fixed with the adhesive pads included?
Please ensure that the surfaces are clean and free from fat, oil and silicone films for instance or other dirt particles. Make sure that you have completely removed the protective film on the adhesive pads. Should you not use the included wall-fixing plate, first of all glue all pads on the keypad and then press them firmly onto the desired position. In case of low temperatures, the assembly of the wall-fixing plate should take place simultaneously with the assembly of the warmed-up keypad, if possible. The final adhesive strength is reached by 20°C within 72 hours, whereby heat accelerates the process (e.g. by 65°C the final adhesive strength is reached already within one hour).
What should I do, if a lock which has been mounted on steel doors or on sheet metal doors does often not open directly?
The connection between the single components takes place via radio. Passing through objects made of metal or reinforced concrete for instance weakens strongly the radio signal. For this reason it might happen that the communication between the components placed in the assembly position that you have chosen is disturbed or not possible. Please choose a new assembly position for the keypad which can ensure an undisturbed communication and install the keypad in that place.
Battery and power supply:
How does the power supply work?
The two components – cylinder and keypad – have to be provided with electricity. For the cylinder you need 2 LR3 (AAA) alkaline batteries, for the keypad you need 2 LR6 (AA) alkaline batteries. Under no circumstances rechargeable batteries are to be used.
What should I do if the battery display varies strongly between different operations or becomes empty fast?
The performance of the batteries can vary due to strong temperature fluctuations (right outside where the keypad is).
The batteries in the keypad and in the cylinder should be changed.
The contact between the battery terminals and the contact spring is not enough in these cases. Please put standard commercial battery grease on the battery terminals (available for instance in car accessories shops) in order to ensure unrestricted electric current.

Which actions have to be undertaken, if the wrench symbol on the lower right of my TSE 4001 flashes?
- The dividers of the cylinder battery have not been removed after unpacking.
- The keypad is not connected to the cylinder electronic system.
- You need to check the voltage supply in the cylinder.
- It might depend on a radio interference, please change the radio channel (distance of at least 3 channels).
- The keypad has been installed outside the reach of the radio signal and cannot exchange data with the cylinder.
In which case is it necessary to change the radio channel?
The TSE is factory-adjusted on the radio channel 1. Should interferences of this type appear more often, so that you need to enter the radio channel several times (“Please repeat the procedure”) in order to open the lock, please set the radio channel on 4 for instance. In total the channels 1 up to 12 are available. We suggest that you keep a distance of three channels from other radio applications (e.g. WLAN).
E-KEY (optionally available for the TSE 4001):
Why does the door not open, even if the button on the E-Key has been pressed?
If the door cannot be opened with the E-Key, please check the battery of the E-Key and change it if necessary. In case of very well shielded doors, the E-Key must be hold directly upon the lock. It is important to ensure that the key lies with its eyelet in the palm of your hand.
Why does the door open with a delay, even if the button on the E-Key has been pressed?
The delayed opening suggests that the battery supply in the cylinder is too low and that the batteries have to be changed. If the red LED flashes during the delay, you need to change the battery of the E-Key, if the opening is only delayed, you need to change the batteries of the locking unit.
How can I get the E-Key in the programming mode?
Should the E-Key not have been previously connected to a lock or to a software, please press the button on the E-Key only once. The green LED flashes three times in quick succession. Should an E-Key be programmed, please press the button of the E-Key and keep on pressing until the green LED flashes three times in succession (the LED in the E-Key flashes once; after a break twice; after one more break three times in succession). Then you can stop pressing the button and continue accordingly to the instructions on the keypad or on the software.
Can an E-Key be used in several sets of locks?
Yes, if you use the same radio channel.
